Brothers,
Happy New Year! I hope that
you are as excited as I am to start 2010 and celebrate the 100th
anniversary of the BSA. We have a lot to do this year that will set
the tone for the next 100 years.
One way that I will
commemorate this momentus occasion will be at Conclave. This year's
event will feature special shows, a Brownsea Island campsite with
period games and activities and even a Baden Powell look-alike
contest. Needless to say, it will be a great time!
See you in
April at Camp Boddie!

The time is now upon us. As we
celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Scouting, why not spend it
occupying your time at Order of the Arrow Trail Crew, or Wilderness
Voyage? If you are not going to the big celebration at Fort
A.P Hill, celebrate by going to an adventurous Order of the Arrow
trip up North at Northern Tier, or in the vast plains of the mighty
historical West at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. Our
section has managed to arrange a price for you, yes YOU, to take
advantage of this amazing experience, for just seven hundred
dollars. THATS A BARGAIN! Why you might ask?
Because there is a reasonable difference in going with the Order of
the Arrow, than reguarly going with your unit.
There is a
chance that there will be a 30 man contingent going, so email us as
quick as possible to get your name on the list! Estimated
appraisals for a scout to go with their unit is nearly up past the
thousand range. Call now to reserve a spot, or, if you would like
more information, please email either myself at highadvchair@sr7b.org, or
John Garwood at highadvad@sr7b.org. I
surely would hate for anyone to not be doing anything for a century
of scouting, and I firmly believe that doing a high adventure
program such as this would not only be a very big accomplishment in
your scouting career, but one unforgettable memory to savor for the
rest of your life. |

Experience: Croatan Lodge 117 |
|
My name
is Harvey Hoopes IV. I am a third generation member of
Croatan Lodge 117, and last year’s conclave at Camp Tuscarora was my
first conclave. The experience was truly thrilling. In
my opinion, OAX was the best part of the weekend; having the
opportunity to do so many different things all in one place was just
plain fun. If any new Arrowman are reading this testimonial, I
have one thing to say: "You need to sign up for the next
conclave, and fast!" It will be at Camp Bodie (Bonner) in East
Carolina Council. Croatan Lodge will be hosting the event and it
will be an unforgettable experience. Hope to see you
there!

Harvey "Wil"
